K-pop icon G-Dragon has swept trophies from local TV music shows over the weekend.
G-Dragon has collected two trophies last week on Mnet’s “M! CountDown” and SBS’s “Inkigayo,” both of which are the only two shows which announced its No. 1 singers.
On Thursday’s “M! CountDown,” the idol-turned-artist grabbed the first trophy in the same episode he marked his comeback stage, beating out girl group KARA.
The musician showed how he appreciated the crown by consistently bowing to fellow singers on stage and to audiences, making an adorable self congratulation during the encore performance that, “Congratulations, Ji-young (G-Dragon’s real name)!”
On “Inkigayo” aired on Sunday, G-Dragon celebrated his second winning with his Big Bang bandmate Seungri, also pursuing solo singing career nowadays. The No. 1 song was GD’s “COUP D’ETAT,” edging out “Who You?,” also one of his four title tunes
“I appreciate all the artists who appeared today and my fans in V.I.P (Big Bang’s official fan club’s name). It is Seungri’s last stage and I feel proud that he did a good job. Thank you,” G-Dragon said until Seungri lifted him up in his arms in joy.
KBS’s Friday music show “Music Bank” aired its special episode taped in Turkey, featuring K-pops big names Super Junior, BEAST, miss A, MBLAQ, FTISLAND and Ailee, while MBC’s “Music Core” aired its normal episode yet didn’t announce its winner on Saturday.
