Yang Hyun Suk Says, “This is Only The Beginning of The PSY Phenomenon”

 

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk did not hold back his praise for singer PSY who has now become a world star, saying, ““Gangnam Style” is not a hit K-Pop song, but rather, it is a major incident that marks a turning point for Korean music.”

PSY’s “Gangnam Style” has currently risen to #4 on the US iTunes chart, and continues to rank high on the iTunes Chart for 15 different countries. Continue reading

G-Dragon and 2NE1 to Release New Material Before Closing Out 2012

 

The biggest names in Hallyu are getting ready to make their respective comebacks before the year is up.

Expectations are high for YG Entertainment. Psy is doing well for himself, representing YG overseas, while G-Dragon has a firm hold on the Korean market. G-Dragon swept the charts with the 19+ single “That XX“, and is looking to release a mini-album on September 15th. In addition, 2NE1‘s new full-length album which got delayed because of their World Tour will also be released this October.

YG will also be releasing SuPearls from SBS ‘K-Pop Star‘ as well as a new girl group being dubbed ‘YG’s Girls’ Generation’. The girl group is determined to fill the relatively weak aspects of girl groups out there today, and have drawn attention since early this year.
